Installation

ArchiveMind ships as separate builds per operating system and processor type. Installing the right one matters — the builds are not interchangeable.

Which build do I need?

Your computer Build to download Status
Windows PC (64-bit) Windows x86_64 Private beta available
Mac with an Intel processor macOS x86_64 (Intel) Private beta available
Mac with Apple silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) macOS arm64 (Apple silicon) Private beta available

Download links

ArchiveMind is currently in private beta. Placeholder — official download links will be published on the Releases page. Do not download ArchiveMind from anywhere other than an official link you received from the ArchiveMind team.

Is my Mac Intel or Apple silicon?

  1. Click the Apple menu () in the top-left corner of the screen.
  2. Choose About This Mac.
  3. Look at the line describing the processor:
    • Chip: Apple M1 / M2 / M3 / M4 — your Mac is Apple silicon.
    • Processor: Intel … — your Mac is Intel.

Macs sold from late 2020 onward are usually Apple silicon; earlier Macs are Intel. The two macOS beta zips differ only in the architecture in their file name — …-macos-arm64.zip for Apple silicon, …-macos-x86_64.zip for Intel — so check this before downloading and take the matching one.

The full installation guides

Each platform has a complete walkthrough — download and checksum verification, extraction, the one-time security prompt, first-run setup, optional preview tools, updating, and uninstalling:

  • Installing on Windows — the beta is a portable folder (ArchiveMind.exe + _internal); first launch passes a one-time SmartScreen prompt.
  • Installing on macOS (Intel) — a zip containing ArchiveMind.app; the Intel build is notarized by Apple, so it opens with a plain double-click.
  • Installing on macOS (Apple silicon) — the native arm64 zip containing ArchiveMind.app. This build is notarized by Apple, so it opens with a plain double-click; no security override and no Rosetta 2 (that is only for the Intel x86_64 build).
